Our Rooms

Each of the sixteen rooms at the Farmers' Home Hotel capture the simplistic beauty of country living with all the touches you'd expect of a boutique luxury hotel. Immerse yourself the 150 year, sometimes chequered, history of the hotel whilst you unwind in one of our five room types.
Choose to stay in our light and airy Parlour Rooms, our generously sized Farmhouse Rooms, or stretch out in the two bedroom Homestead Room, perfect for a family. Whichever you choose, we’re positive it will be the highlight of your escape to the picturesque Avon Valley.

Eating & Drinking

When eating or drinking at the Farmers' Home Hotel you’re not going to be doing it alone. We like good old fashioned inn-keeping where travellers have a chance to mix it up with the locals and slow to a country town pace. Between our humble café with its casual nature and our wine bar named in honour of our home-town's history, you're sure to find something to suit your taste.

Local Discovery

Northam sits at the confluence of two lazy rivers that wind their way across the flat plains from hundreds of kilometres away. This place was a meeting point for tens of thousands of years for the Ballardong Nyoongars before the Wadjela arrived. It seems that every stage in the development of Western Australia has a story that runs through Northam. The growing need for food, the first influx of migrants from post-Napoleonic Europe, the first prospectors, fortune hunters and gold seekers. Later, soldiers, bushrangers, farmers, governors and teetotallers, to the coming of rail and life-giving water pipelines. They all interconnect and cross paths here. Follow their stories, find your own and connect with the country as you experience our curated day trips.

Meetings & Occasions

The Farmers' Home Hotel has a number of exciting spaces, as well as the food & beverage and the team to bring your individual special occasion to life. Within our Hotel we have a range of spaces that can cater for a group of ten through to a sit down meal for 34 guests. Whether it be a board meeting, a conference, off-site team-building or a once-in-a-lifetime special occasion, we can tailor a package to transform your idea into a memorable experience. With the luxury on-site accommodation also part of the experience, an event at the Farmers' Home Hotel is one that is truly hard to rival.

Your Hosts

The Farmers' Home Hotel team are local residents who live, work and play in the Avon Valley. They've got the inside track on winery recommendations, sharing their best shortcuts, or the best time of day to set off for your hot air balloon ride - all the things that only locals could know.

Getting Here & Away

Northam was the historic stopping off point for those seeking their fortune in the Kalgoorlie Goldfields, and those returning; usually desolate, broke and empty handed. Northam now is a thriving town, the central hub of the Avon Valley community and crossroads for journeys to all points of the compass. Whether you are taking a scenic 90 minute drive from Perth, or even covering the last few kilometres of that once-in-a-lifetime Nullabor crossing, the roads to and from Northam are packed full of stories, history and scenery.
